The next episode of "Your Neighborhood Stage" has been released and is available via iTunes, other podcast directories, on at http://www.NeighborhoodStage.com.
-------------------------------------------------------------------- October 23, 2006: Stage Managers (Part 4 of 4), Pre-show Warm-Ups and "Misery" This week we wrap up our four-part series on Stage Managers. We talk with Robin Grounds, the Production Manager and sometimes Stage Manager for Corpus Christi Community Theatre in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ, and with Courtney Katz, who frequently stage manages for the Playcrafters of Skippack and the Forge Theatre, both located in Southeastern Pennsylvania. We ask them when they become involved in the production, if they allow the director backstage during the show, and the greatest tip they could give to a first time director. Robin also gives some organizational tips for stage managers.
Our discussion topic this week is "Pre-show warm-ups". We discuss things you can do with your cast to get them focused, relaxed and ready for the show.
Our "Show of the Week" this week is "Misery" It comes to us courtesey of Jim Carroll, who is currently directing the show for the Players Club of Swarthmore in Swarthmore, PA.
As always, we will tell you "What's New to Do" and bring you a little theatrical news as well.
