September 11, 2006: Props, Stage Managers (part 2), News and 9-11. We start off this week discussing and remembering 9-11. We follow that with some interesting community theatre related news.
We also have part two of our four-part series on Stage Managing. We talk with Robin Grounds, the production managers and sometimes stage manager for Corpus Christi Community Theatre in Hasbrouck Heights, NJ, and with Courtney Katz, who frequently stage manages for the Playcrafters of Skippack and the Forge Theatre, both located in Southeastern Pennsylvania. We ask them: how they became involved in stage managing, what they think the most challenging aspects are, what they find most rewarding, and if there are any other roles in theatre they would like to take on.
We finish up with a discussion on props and prop horror stories. We read several items related to this topic submitted on the message boards at both NJTheatre.com and the Delaware Valley Community Theatre Board.
