“The World of Carl Sandberg”
The world of Carl Sandburg was performed on Broadway by Bette Davis and Leif
Erikson et al. The Play featured the best of the Pulitzer Prize winner's
works, including, the biography of Lincoln. Interspersed with American folk
songs from the Sandburg's Songbag. The show is both playful and serious,
homespun and wise. Dry in its wit like a prarie philosopher, and unfailingly
comic. It, is an evening with a gay and witty shrug. The snappers that mark
the endings of so many Sandburg's aphorisms are impudent and comic.
