�The Three Musketeers� Ride Into The Chatham Playhouse From May 1-16
It's all for one and one for all as �The Three Musketeers� ride into the Chatham Playhouse and wrapping up Chatham Players� 93rd Season. Based on the classic novel by Alexandre Dumas, Ken Ludwig has adapted this swashbuckling tale for the stage. The adventure begins May 1 and runs through May 16. Mike Burdick of Linden directs and Scott Kerns of Brooklyn is the Fight Choreographer.
Based on the timeless novel by Alexandre Dumas and adapted by Tony award-winning playwright, Ken Ludwig, �The Three Musketeers� is a rousing adventure about heroism, treachery, friendship and honor. Set in 1625, d'Artagnan's quest to become a Musketeer propels him and his sister, Sabine, into a royal scandal comprised of a bitter rivalry between King Louis XIII and the evil Cardinal Richelieu. The Chatham Community Players chose the Ludwig adaptation because it stays true to the original, but distills the action to keep the narrative moving. With the addition of Sabine, a sister for d�Artagnan, Ludwig is able to include a more complete feminine point of view. Sabine functions both as the servant, Planchet, and a love interest for one of the musketeers. In a comical, yet fateful twist, d'Artagnan teams up with Athos, Porthos and Aramis, otherwise known as "The Three Musketeers," to protect the King, Queen and all of France in this action-packed adventure for the entire family.
Those familiar with the Alexandre Dumas class tale may have a preconceived notion of what to expect but, Director Mike Burdick explains what makes Ken Ludwig�s adaptation special. �In Chatham�s production, you will see all the best parts of the story you know and love - the daring action, good vs evil, the highest nobility with just the right amount of improper behavior mixed in - but also so much more. A clever humor has breathed fresh life into this journey, along with the addition of a bold new character who will increase the energy and enjoyment of the story overall. Featuring a talented and diverse group of actors from all around New Jersey. Bringing 1625 France to life, the cast includes Mitchell Vargas from North Bergen as d�Artagnan, Scott Costine from Rockaway as Athos, Glen D. Post from Boonton as Porthos, Matthew Strool from Bridgewater as Aramis, Caroline Cromwell from Madison as Sabine, Kristina Hernandez from Westfield as Milady, Frank Bl�euer from Hewitt as Cardinal, Rebecca Ryan from Berkeley Heights as Constance/Elise, Nick Colacino as Rochefort/Stanley and Ed Faver as Treville/Fache are both from Roselle, Chip Prestera from Stirling as King Louis/Basille, Corinne Chandler from Woodbridge as Queen/d�Artagnan�s Mother, Steve Ruskin from Chatham as D�Artagnan�s Father/Ravanche and Sean Day from Union City as Duke of Buckingham/Debris.
Rounding out Burdick�s talented production team: Producer is Andrea Sickler, Stage Manager is Dawn Noonan, Production Coordinator is Maybelle Cowan-Lincoln, Scenic Designer by Dean Sickler, Scenic Painting by Andrea Sickler, Costume Designer by Beverly Wand and Tom Marshall, Lighting Designer by Richard Hennessy and Sound Designer by Joe DeVico.
Performance dates are May 1, 2, 8, 9, 15 and 16 at 8pm and May 10 at 3pm. All performances are at the Chatham Playhouse, 23 North Passaic Avenue, in Chatham. Tickets are $25 for adults and $23 for youth/senior.

The service is available 24 hours a day, and tickets can be purchased online up until three hours prior to curtain on the day of a performance.
