As a musical theatre performer, voice teacher and coach, I have learned the singer’s paramount need is to maintain vocal health and consistency of performance. This is achieved by laying a foundation of solid vocal training, focusing on the healthy functional use of the voice with emphasis on the following aspects to develop a secure singing technique: • Determination of correct voice category and range • Proper breath support and natural resonance • Alignment of body and larynx • Relaxation of the jaw, tongue and pharynx • Correct diction and articulation • Ear training exercises • Repertoire selection appropriate to age and voice type • Interpretation-integrating text and musical expression My students are of varying ages and levels of proficiency, from the dancer and actor with little or no previous vocal training, to the student serious about auditioning for the professional musical theater. Lessons are tailored to each student’s individual needs and cover a wide variety of vocal and musical styles such as classical, Broadway, pop, rock, R & B, jazz and gospel. ELAINE GEORGE FOULIDES With a degree in Music Education, I have maintained a career as a professional vocal coach, teacher, musical director and performer for more than thirty years, focusing on vocal production, technique, and performance skills for both solo and choral ensembles. My students have appeared on Broadway, in national tours, on television, in commercials, movies, and regional theatres. As a performing artist, my personal credits include Broadway, off-Broadway, cabaret, dinner theatre, church and synagogue soloist and numerous recordings. I have also appeared with Labors of Love, a benefit for Broadway Cares / Equity Fights AIDS and was a featured soloist on their Christmas CD, Carols for a Cure. Vocal Lessons Vocal lessons are one hour in length and are scheduled in four and eight week sessions. Half-hour lessons are available for students 12 and under. Individual coaching for auditions is available upon request. Please call the studio for rates and information at 732-306-7730. Other Studio Services • Vocal Evaluations • Audition Preparation – Repertoire Selection and Technique • Transposition of Music • Accompaniments • Preparation for College Vocal Auditions • Recording Session Technique and Coaching • Referrals to Other Industry Professionals • Musical Theatre Workshops • Seminars and Showcases with Agents, Managers and Casting Directors The studio is conveniently located in the historic New Brunswick theatre district, minutes from the train. I am an experienced musician looking to do more work in musical theatre pit orchestras. I play piano (and keyboards), upright and electric bass. I play all three instruments in various instrumental ensembles at my high school, as well as at other gigs. I am a very experienced stage performer in musical theatre, so I understand underscoring, cues, and following the actors very well. Unlike some other pit musicians, musical theatre is my passion, and I am very familiar with the nature of it.

But so far in my three years of playing piano, I have musically directed four shows, worked in the pits countless times on piano, keyboards, bass and trumpet and have also studied voice for quite some time. Make one call and book an orchestra! Only hire the BEST of players and the right instruments for that given show book.
As a Contractor/Performer I have booked hundreds upon hundreds of show pits. I invite the various theater companies to STOP wasting their money and make one call. In addition, all of my associates are SHOW players...they have all played hundreds of shows...if one of your performers drop a line on stage...we will be with them and not have a train crash! Some musicians can be too black & white...only read the ink...no flexibility. This doesn't work in the theater, as you know, no two shows are ever the same!
