“You Know I Can't Hear You When The Water's Running” at Bickford Theater

“You Know I Can't Hear You When The Water's Running”
by Robert Anderson

The topic is sex, in all its mysterious and fascinating manifestations; the treatment is skillful, tasteful and explosively funny. Four short plays make up the evening: The Shock Of Recognition analyzes the necessity of a nude scene on stage; The Footsteps of Doves follows a couple shopping for a new bed after 25 years of marriage; I'll Be Home For Christmas captures parents discussing the sex education of their almost adult-children; and I'm Herbert features two elderly people sitting on a porch in rocking chairs, discussing their previous marriages and flings, but both are hazy on the details. This Tony Award winning classic is one of the most hilarious and successful comedies in Broadway history.
