In this rarely produced work, Camino Real paints the mystifying picture of a place where time stands still, and ex-prizefighter, Kilroy, finds himself trapped in a fantastical world of gypsies and loan sharks; a mysterious realm where Don Quixote and Lord Byron make magical appearances. The story follows Kilroy as he struggles to protect his golden gloves, his golden belt and his precious heart of gold. The haunting symbolic landscape of the Camino Real becames the battlefield for Williams's rebellious outcry against the tyranny and tendency of humankind to stifle or destroy what is fragile, romantic or differnet.
