The honorable and intelligent Cyrano is unable to pursue the beautiful Roxanne because of his shame over the size of his nose. Living vicariously through the handsome Christian de Neuvillette, Cyrano is able to express his feelings for and to Roxanne but must still deal with his own loneliness.
