This coming-of-age story deals with the devastating consequences of sexual repression, turmoil, youthful dreams, painful realities, obsession, neurosis and the constrictions of both parental and societal pressure upon a pair of love struck teenagers, in the 1920's. Meanwhile, the impending stock market crash, the great depression, and the values of a new business-oriented civilization conspire to doom their tender romance.
