“Let Me Sing” at George Street Playhouse

“Let Me Sing”
Book by Michael Aman & Michael Bush
Conceived by Michael Bush, Michael Aman & Joel Silberman
Additional Compositions by Andre De Shields

Journey back to the era of Molly Picon, Fred Astaire, Ethel Waters, Irene Dunne and Bert Williams for an all-singing, all-dancing new musical featuring popular show tunes by Irving Berlin, George M. Cohan, the Gershwins and others. Tracing the evolution of the American musical from the turn of the century to the second World War, Let Me Sing explores how the songs of the early 1900’s – such as Someone To Watch Over Me, You Made Me Love You and Alexander’s Ragtime Band – helped define what it means to be “An American.”
