“An Empty Plate in the Café Du Grand Boeuf” at Theater Project

“An Empty Plate in the Café Du Grand Boeuf”
by Michael Hollinger

Set in swingin' Paris in 1961, it's about Victor, a wealthy newspaperman. He has spared no expense when it comes to the Cafe Du Grand Boeuf, his personal Parisian restaurant (open only for him) that caters to his every need. Problem is, Victor's broken heart has made him give up his appetite...permanently. As the chef, waiters, and staff try to dazzle him with delicacies, the play wittily examines the connections between loneliness, love, passion...and food. Something we all understand!
