Darius deHaas Biography

made his Paper Mill debut last season with Children of Eden playing the roles of Cain/Japheth (his performance can be heard on the RCA Victor recording). He has appeared on Broadway in Kiss of the Spiderwoman, Lincoln Center’s revival of Carousel, and in the original cast of Rent. His Off-Broadway credits include the premiere of Satan Returns at the Public (recorded on Nonesuch — retitled Myths & Hymns to be released in February), the pre-Broadway workshop of the upcoming Marie Christine at Lincoln Center, and Jesus Christ Superstar at NYU’s Frank Loesser Theatre. He toured with the first National Company of Once On This Island and internationally with John Adams’ I Was Looking at the Ceiling and Then I Saw the Sky, directed by Peter Sellars (also recorded on Nonesuch). He has played such regional theatres as The Goodman, Hartford Stage, Cincinnati Playhouse in the Park, North Shore Music Theatre, and The Kennedy Center. Darius will next be appearing Off-Broadway in the World Premiere of The Running Man (produced by Music-Theater Group) at "Here Space" in late February.
