Jeffery Hatcher's plays including SCOTLAND ROAD, BON VOYAGE (based on Noel Coward's musical SAIL AWAY), NEDDY, FELLOW TRAVELERS, SMASH (adapted from George Bernard Shaw's novel AN UNSOCIAL SOCIALIST) and DOWNTOWN, have been produced at Yale Repertory Theatre, Cincinnati Playhouse-in-the-Park, the Denver Center Theater Company, The Cricket Theater, The American Place Theatre, Manhattan Punchline, Actors Theatre of St. Paul, and Actors Theatre of Louisville, among others. He has been commissioned by South Coast Repertory to write ALEXANDRIA, a comedy based on the David Leavit-Stephen Spender controversy; and by Portland Stage to adapt Henry James' THE TURN OF THE SCREW. A recipient of the Minnesota State Arts Board Grant, a W. Alton Jones Foundation Award, the Lois and Richard Rosenthal New Play Pnze and fellowships from the Jerome Foundation and the McKnight Foundation through the Playwrights' Center, Hatcher is a Core Member of the Playwrights ' Center and was elected to New Dramatists in 1992. SCOTLAND ROAD opened in Great Britain and Germany last year. THREE VIEWINGS was originally produced at Manhattan Theatre Club 's City Center Stage II
