is the first American to garner an Onassis Foundaton International Playwriting Award, presented to the author by the President of Greece in Athens in September of '97 for his play, THE ELEVATION OF THIEVES. His play THE QUICK-CHANGE ROOM won the Denver Critics ' Circle Awardfor Best New Play of '95 when it premiered in that city. It debuts in New York in October of this year and was recently published by the Dramatists Play Service who have also published two earlier works: OPERA COMIQUE and AT THIS EVENING'S PERFORMANCE. A new play, TAKING LEAVE will debut at the Denver Center Theatre Company in April '98. Mr. Jackson was Artistic Director of the McCarter Theatre in Princeton from 1979- 1990, and before that of the Milwaukee Repertory Theater. He has guest directed at all the major regional theaters in the U. S. and currently serves as the principal director of Shakespeare in Santa Fe. Mr. Jackson resides in Princeton Junction, NJ with his wife Sandy.
