Karen Sunde

an actor turned playwright. She performed some sixty roles Off-Broadway, and was Associate Director of CSC Repertory. Plays of hers have been performed Off-Broadway, in regional theatres, on a USA tour, and abroad — in ten countries and in seven languages. A number of her plays have been published. The latest, a collection, Plays By Karen Sunde published by Broadway Play Publishing, includes How His Bride Came to Abraham and In a Kingdom by the Sea, both developed at Playwrights Theatre. The latter play also has a Middle East setting, and deals with the abduction and subsequent death of a Marine Lieutenant Colonel who worked for the United Nations Peacekeeping Force. Playwrights Theatre audiences saw this play in February of 1992. Local audiences also saw a short play by Sunde, Oh Wild West Wind, as part of PTNJ's commissioned, The Immigrant Project: Rowing to America, presented in May of 1997.
