Lona has been involved in theater for 45+ years in many phases. She served as past President of The New Theatre, Inc. of Bernardsville. She has just been cast as Madame Arcati in Chatham Playhouse's Blithe Spirit which opens Oct. 4, 2001. She has just completed her role of Pauline at SVP in Prisoner of 2nd Ave. Some past roles are Sophie Greengrass in Social Security, for which she won Superior Acting Award from NJ Theater League, Bubbie in Crossing Delancey, Yente in Fiddler on the Roof, Mrs. Baker in Come Blow Your Horn, Doris in Cemetery Club, Gabrielle in Dear World, Grandma Kurnitz in Lost in Yonkers, General Cartwright in Guys & Dolls, Mrs. Petersen in Bye, Bye Birdie, Bea in Lovers and Other Strangers. Her most challenging role was Lady Capulet in Romeo & Juliet. She also appeared as Florence Vanderbilt in an original play by David Landau called Last Day at Florham. Comedy is her first love but always welcomes a challenge.
