has directed Paper Mill's World Premieres of Sayonara, Mikado Inc., The Prisoner of Zenda, Comfortable Shoes, and his own dramatizations of Jane Eyre, Great Expectations, and A Tale of Two Cities, as well as Children of Eden (original cast recording available in May 1998), Man of La Mancha, Gigi, Nine, To Kill A Mockingbird, Amadeus, Phantom, Robert and Elizabeth, Fanny, Oliver!, South Pacific, Shenandoah, Mack & Mabel, Annie Get Your Gun, Carousel, Guys and Dolls, Side by Side by Sondheim, 1940's Radio Hour, 1776, Naughty Marietta, Student Prince, and Show Boat (shown on PBS's "Great Performances"). He directed and starred in The Secret Garden, Peter Pan, Candide, Roar of the GreaseRaint, Camelot, Jesus Christ Superstar, and the annual summer concert, Life on Earth. For Paper Mill and New York City Opera, he has staged New Moon (also shown on PBS), Desert Song, and The Merry Widow (televised on "Live from Lincoln Center"). At NYCO he also directed Cinderella and played Tobias in Sweeney Todd. On Broadway, he directed Canterbury Tales and made his acting debut in Shenandoah. Last spring he took Paper Mill's Wizard of Oz to The Theatre at Madison Square Garden, with Roseanne as the Wicked Witch. Oz will return to New York this spring as a stop on its current National Tour starring Eartha Kitt and Mickey Rooney.
