Michael Frayn

was born September 8, 1933, in London. An acclaimed playwright, he has written extensively for the theatre, and his plays include Copenhagen, Alarms and Excursions, Here, Look Look, Benefactors, The Two of Us, Clouds, Liberty Hall, Alphabetical Order, Donkey’s Years, Make and Break, and Noises Off. His translations of The Cherry Orchard and Tolstoy’s The Fruits of Enlightenment were produced by the National Theatre, as was Wild Honey, his translation of Chekhov’s earliest and untitled play. Frayn has also written and presented television documentaries on Berlin, Vienna, Australia, Jerusalem, and the London suburbs. His screenplays include Clockwise and Remember Me? He has published nine novels, including the recent Headlong.
