Such critical acclaim has accrued to this distinguished principal artist of the Metropolitan Opera in both the United States and abroad, since he made an outstanding debut at the San Francisco Opera in a new production of La Rondine. His European debut as Cavaradossi in Tosca at Aachen, Germany, was equally successful and he returned to Europe in the 1992-93 season in the title role of Verdis Don Carlo in Basel, Switzerland. Other engagements include the role of Calaf in Puccinis Turandot at the Met and for the Spokane Symphony. This season he will return to the Metropolitan Opera in the title role of Verdis Stiffelio.
