The star of 40 motion pictures, three Broadway shows, National Tours, and television appearances, Ann Miller enjoys one of the longest careers in Hollywood. At age 13, Ann was contracted with R.K.O. So remarkably talented, by age 14 Ann landed the role of Ginger Rogers dancing partner in Stage Door, starting her motion picture career that spanned 20 years. At 15, Columbia Studios "borrowed" Ann for 1938s Academy Award-winning Best Picture, You Cant Take It With You, with James Stewart and Jean Arthur. Ann starred in some of MGMs most spectacular musical productions, including Easter Parade (Fred Astaire), On The Town (Gene Kelly) and her most memorable film, Kiss Me Kate. She was nominated for a Tony Award as well as the Laurence Olivier Award in London for Sugar Babies. Several of Anns legendary song and dance routines were featured in Thats Dancing and the retrospective films Thats Entertainment I, II, and III. Recipient of many awards, among them the George M. Cohan Award and the Sara Siddons Award, Ann recently received an award from the "Women in Tap" part of the Red Hot and Blue Series from the Smithsonian Institute, where her tap shoes Moe and Joe are currently on display. By 1942 Ann had her star on Hollywood Boulevards Walk of Fame, and in January 1998 she received her star on the Palm Springs Walk of Fame. Shes the author of two books: Millers High Life and Tapping Into The Force. Ann currently resides in both Beverly Hills, California, and Sedona, Arizona, with her secretary and her dogs, Angel and KoKo.
