has written the screenplays for ROXANNE (Writers Guild Award, Best Screenplay), L.A. STORY, TWIST OF FATE, and BOWFINGER. He also co‑wrote the screenplays for THE JERK, DEAD MEN DON'T WEAR PLAID, THE MAN WITH TWO BRAINS, and THREE AMIGOS. He won an Emmy writing for THE SMOTHERS BROTHERS COMEDY HOUR. Mr. Martin has also published a collection of short stories entitled CRUEL SHOES. His first play, PICASSO AT THE LAPIN AGILE, ran both in Boston at the American Repertory Theatre, and in New York City.
