has appeared in numerous Broadway productions including Does a Tiger Wear a Necktie?, Ain’t Supposed to Die a Natural Death, Amen Corner (the musical), The Iceman Cometh, and August Wilson’s Seven Guitars, for which he received a Tony nomination, as well as the Outer Critics Circle Award and National Black Arts Festival Award. Roger has performed Off-Broadway, in films, and has played leading roles at most major regional theaters across the United States. Television audiences will remember him as Gil Weaver on Kojak and from his guest starring roles on other popular TV shows including Law & Order, The Cosby Show, and ER. Roger is the first (and only male) recipient of a Lifetime Achievement Award given by the Alpha Kappa Alpha National Sorority. Subsequent honorees have included Judith Jamison, Mary Alice, Olivia Cole, Maya Angelou and Gloria Foster. He is a Fox Foundation Fellow.
