Jennifer von Mayrhauser Biography

Jennifer has designed many productions with Emily Mann including Meshugah, Safe as Houses, The House of Bernarda Alba, A Doll House, The Matchmaker, The Perfectionist, Miss Julie, Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, Three Sisters, Betsey Brown¸ and The Glass Menagerie at the McCarter Theatre; Execution of Justice at The Guthrie Theatre and on Broadway; and Hedda Gabler at La Jolla Playhouse. She has designed over twenty Broadway shows including The Heidi Chronicles, Hay Fever and Tally’s Folly. Recent off-Broadway designs include That Championship Season at Second Stage. Television: Law & Order, The Days and Nights of Molly Dodd, and New York Undercover. Film: The Real Blonde, Mystic Pizza, Lean on Me, The Hand That Rocks the Cradle, Passed Away, Captain Ron and I’m Not Rappaport. Ms. von Mayrhauser received the 1995 Obie Award for Sustained Excellence for Costume Design and was nominated for an Emmy for Law & Order in 1999.
