credits include the Tony nominated musical "The Lieutenant", for which he also received a Drama Desk Award nomination for Best Director. Since that time he has established himself as a prolific and creative director of both musical and non-musical theatre with more than two hundred productions on and off-Broadway and in regional, opera and university theatre, garnering many New York and national awards. Dr. Martin has also established a reputation as an outstanding dramaturg, critic, lecturer, and workshop instructor with exceptional perception and expertise. He is also one of New York City's leading private acting coaches with several Broadway and off-Broadway actors among his students. As the creator of the "Character Kinespheric Technique", he has earned the honor of "the premier actors' director". Co-founder and vice president of Lyric Theatre International and board member and past-president of the Stage Directors and Choreographers Foundation, Dr. Martin is an active member of the National Theatre Conference, ASCAP, The Dramatists Guild, and The Society of Stage Directors and Choreographers.
